Lincoln Park Zoo
It all started with two swans in 1868 and a bear cub in 1874. It was enough for the beginning of an extraordinary zoo. Nowadays, the Lincoln Park Zoo houses polar bears, penguins, monkeys, gorillas, giraffes, reptiles and many others. Almost 1,250 animals have found their home at the Lincoln Park Zoo. The zoo offers free admission to everybody and is open 365 days a year. A burr oak tree dating to 1830 is also located in the Lincoln Park Zoo. Come and see it for yourself.
Especially for children, the Lincoln Park Zoo has prepared the Pritzker Family Children's Zoo and the Farm-in-the-Zoo. Children can pet and feed here all the animals to be found on a farm and see how to milk a cow. Pigs, cows, horses and sheep are all here.
Whenever you feel like doing something special, you may rent a boat and paddle on the Lincoln Park Lagoon. You’ll love it.
