Founded in 1879, the Art Institute of Chicago features valuable works of art gathered from all over the world. Masterpieces painted by Monet and Degas, African ceramics, masks and furniture, photography and contemporary American painting are all here.
The museum is open from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10:30 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and from 12 to 5 pm on Sunday.

Jane Addams built the Hull House Museum as a "settlement house" with a library, theater, art gallery and gymnasium to help her neighbors. The museum now includes two of the original 13 buildings.
The Hull House Museum is open from 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday and from 12 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. Admission is free.

Inspired by his visit to the Deutches Museum in Munich, Julius Rosenwald decided to create a center for "industrial enlightenment" right here, in Chicago. The Museum of Science and Industry was opened in 1933 and is now one of Chicago’s greatest attractions.
